Bill to upgrade Oyo College of Education to University scales through first reading

A bill to upgrade Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo to a Degree awarding Institution has scaled through first reading at the Oyo State House of Assembly.

DAILY POST reports that the college is one of the tertiary educational institutions owned by the Oyo State government.

The bill forwarded to the state House of Assembly by the Executive Arm of Government was read for the first time on Tuesday.

It was read during the plenary of the house.

It was titled “The Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo Law, 2022.”

The law is to make provision for the establishment, constitution and functions of the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education at Oyo and for other matters incidental thereto or connected therewith.

When passed into law, the Institution will now award Bachelor’s Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates and other academic titles.

It will also confer honorary degrees, fellowships and other academic distinctions to deserving candidates.
