The Osun State government has admonished the people of the state who are not yet vaccinated to make themselves available at any government facilities to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

The state Commissioner for Health, Rafiu Isamotu while speaking with journalists said Osun State is in the 4th position in COVID-19 vaccination performance among the states in the federation.

So far, over 1.3 million people have been vaccinated in the state between May to September 2022.

However, Isamotu said originally, “Osun was in 5th position in COVID-19 vaccination among the states in Nigeria, we redressed and got to 9th but with SYDANI help, We are now 4th position in Nigeria when it comes to COVID-19 vaccination.”

As the partnership with the group ended, the state commissioner announced that Osun is ready to partner with organizations that might want to assist in the area of vaccination of its people.

“I want to appeal to some partners that might want to assist us in the area of COVID-19 vaccination in our state. We are at a fountain position and we still want to do better, I can assure the people of the state that we are moving forward when it comes to covid-19 vaccination. People should make themselves available for vaccination.”

Sunday Atobatele, representative of SYDANI said, in four months, the group vaccinated over 78 percent of those who receive the first dose and 30 percent for the second vaccination.
