Nigeria’s national men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, crushed Argentina 94-71 on Monday evening, July 12, only one day after defeating the USA basketball team.
In the early hours of Sunday, July 11, 2021, D’Tigers defeated the USA in an exhibition game before of the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Then, in continuation of their training for the Olympics, Nigeria also bested Argentina 94-71 on Monday evening, July 12, at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.
Argentines led 19-17 at the conclusion of the first quarter but D’Tigers responded with more vigour in the second quarter, outscoring the South Americans 26-14 to take a 10-point advantage into halftime 43-33.
At the conclusion of the third quarter, Nigeria extended their advantage to 19 points to complete the quarter at 74-55.
The squad concentrated their effort in the last quarter to win 20-16, completing the game 94-71.
Nigerians on Twitter are rejoicing because after besting the USA – the FIBA-ranked No.1 team – D’Tigers followed up that success with another eye-catching triumph against the No.4-ranked Argentines.
