The new school fees regime approved by the Governing Council of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree has been suspended by the Osun State Government.

This is as the Polytechnic management has also announced its readiness to comply with the directive.

The new school fees regime was originally intended for newly admitted students at all levels in the institution.

A statement signed by A.O. Okediya, the bursar of the institution announcing the readiness of the polytechnic to comply with the directive stated that the suspension directive affected only the ND I and HND I students.

According to him: “Following the directive of the State Government, the new fee regime approved by the eighth Governing Council of the institution for the newly admitted students for the 2022/2023 Academic Session, has been suspended pending further directive from the State Government.

“Please note that this directive affects only the ND I and HND I students, other categories of students are expected to continue with their payments and registration as expected.”

The state governor, Ademola Adeleke on Monday during an inspection tour of some schools and health care centres in the state lamented the poor state of facilities.

Adeleke also promised to within 100 hundred days in office, turn around the education sectors in line with his campaign promises and five-point action plan for the state.
