Security agents deployed to Ojota, the site of the Yoruba Nation rally in Lagos state, used tear gas to disperse the protesters and arrested a few.
Despite a state police command order prohibiting the protestors from gathering at the location, they did so.

In the early hours of today, security agents from the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Army, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, as well as their vans, were sent to the demonstration site to prevent people from demonstrating. They ignored the instruction, however, and converged.
Those detained were taken to the Black Maria, which was waiting for them. The protestors’ strategic gathering places were also blocked off by the police.
During a press conference this week, state Commissioner of Police Hakeem Odumosu said the state cannot afford to relive the bloodshed that happened when the #EndSARS rally in October 2020 was hijacked by certain hoodlums.
In the meanwhile, the protest site has returned to normality.
