Government of the State of Osun has concluded plans to collaborate with Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria FTAN, to promote tourism sector in the State.
The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Obawale Adebisi disclosed this during a familiarization visit paid to his Office by the Executives of FTAN today.
The Commissioner stated that the visit of the Association to Osun is a blessing to the State, noting that the administration of Governor Oyetola has pledged to drive the economy of the State through tourism, saying it can only be acheived when tourism professioners are duely engaged.
Dr Obawale therefore disclosed that the State Government will partner with the association in order to be able to acheive the goals of Governor Oyetola in tourism promotion in the State.
Speaking earlier, the Vice President of the Association in the South West region of the Country, Otunba Ayo Olumoko, stated that the association was formed in order to promote tourism and to bring sernity into the sector in Nigeria, adding that the association is sadled with the responsibilities of running a common cause with the Government.
He further reaffairmed that Osun has the largest tourism sites in the Country stating that the association is ready to create a good relationship with the Government in order to lift the sector to a greater hight.
Otunba Olumoko explained that the association has been helpful to other States in the Country, noting that the association has 23 Chapters in Nigeria. He therefore enjoined other tourism operators who are yet to register with the association to do so.
The Vice President used the occcation to present the constitutions of the association to the Commissioner, stressing that the official lnauguration of the association will come up on the 10th December, 2020.
