Today, July 1, two people were reported killed in an incident at the Soka, Ibadan house of Yoruba rights campaigner Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho.
In a Facebook live this morning, Igboho’s media assistant, Olayomi Koiki, confirmed this incident, saying that gunmen dressed in military uniforms attacked the home and carried out the attack.
“Right now, the situation is dire. Two Yoruba boys were murdered at Chief Sunday Igboho’s home. The military has carried away the bodies of the two people who died. We have no information about where they were taken.”
Koiki went on to say more.
“I can affirm that the men who arrived are Nigerian military. More than a hundred troops have arrived. More security personnel in around seven Nigerian Army patrol vehicles have arrived, making the scene quite active.”
The Nigerian Army has yet to acknowledge or deny its participation in the raid.
