On June 7, 2021, bandits freed around 70 women kidnapped from the Malele village in Zamfara state.
While the cause for their release is unclear, locals in the neighbourhood as well as the state police spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu, verified the news.
Shehu said that the leadership would provide media with additional information on the situation.
