A farmer in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Modibo Usman has lamented that he has not been to his farms for over two years because of the lingering bandits’ activities in the State.

Speaking with DAILY POST in Gusau, the State capital, Usman explained that he has even abandoned his village with his family and relocated to Gusau, the State capital.

“Since the bandits have refused to cease fire and give people the freedom to go about their legitimate endeavours, the only option left is to run away from the area and come to a safe place,” he said

“Even though Gusau being the state capital is not also very safe as we continue hearing of attacks by bandits in Damba and other areas of Gusau”

Usman said that he regrets leaving his village for Gusau because of banditry activities, saying there was no option left for him as a notable farmer in Zurmi Local Government Area of the State but to run away.

“I am very sure that the state government does not want the common masses to live, that is why the people at the corridors of power do not want the banditry activities to end because they are not feeling the pains like ordinary citizens”

“We are farmers and depend on farming but now we don’t have access to our farms as the bandits continue roaring like wounded lions as if they have been offended by the innocent citizens of the state”

“To be sincere before God and man, the government knows what is happening about this dreaded menace but they refuse to take action but continued telling us that it will soon come to an end which we do not believe”

“Until the bandits kill everyone before the operations would come to an end and if the bandits kill everyone, who will be there to vote for the power-drunk politicians”

“I am not going back to my village or farms until the government settle this issue of banditry activities in the State because we are all aggrieved”

” The government is not doing anything to end these dastardly acts that have bedevils the entire State but keep on with its empty propaganda that it was on top of the issue “
